Bogor – Prestigious and innovative—are the right words to describe Lutvi Abdullah. The young man who’s familiarly called Upi is a student of the Chemical Analysis Study Program from Vocational School (SV) of Bogor Agricultural University, class of 53.
Upi’s track record is no doubt. He has often been awarded the titular champions in the international research competitions since 2016. As a student from agricultural school, Upi succeeded in integrating agriculture, pharmacy, and the passion for researches into a masterpiece. It is not excessive if he was dubbed as The Great of Researcher by the people around him.
Some of Upi’s achievements in international competitions are the Best Research on the 2017 International Science Pharmacy University of Malaya, Best Oral Presentation on the 2017 International Conference Medical of Human NTU Singapore, Best Researcher Awardee of the 2017 Chulalongkorn University Thailand, Honorable Mention, Best Oral Presentation, and Best Research (Triple Achievement) on the 2018 International Conference Food and Agricultural Security University of Malaya, and Best Research Award and Most Diplomatic Award on the 2019 International Microbiology and Medical Disease (IMMDE) NUS.
In his experience, the most memorable one was the 2019 International Microbiology and Medical Disease (IMMDE) in National University of Singapore. In that competition, Upi brought out his research innovation of HERBA Chicken Feather of Snack Bar), a snack bar made from quills for the people who suffer from leukemia. The quercetin, protein, and vitamins contained in the snack bar formula are claimed to prolong the life expectancy of leukemia sufferers.
“I can really feel the atmosphere of competition in the 2019 IMMDE in NUS. The attendees are not only undergraduate students but also post-graduate students from respected universities with famous researches like Cambridge University and Seoul National University,” he said.
Aside from the mountain of achievements, another interesting thing in Upi’s personality is his struggle and determination. All the things he achieved are not something he got easily.
“I came from a broken-home family. I was very mischievous so my father would always nurture me the hard way so I could be independent and not become a weak person. Since I was born as a diffable, many people underestimated me at first. But then I realized something that my diffability was the one that make me keep fighting and making something from my interests and talents. If I can say something, just keep trying and never give up, because this live is created to be enjoyed. Do not forget to be the best version of ourselves and do not ever stop creating,” said Upi.
Now this Bogor Agricultural University’s Vocational School student is undergoing a Research Program Specialist from one of the leading universities in Singapore. This program is undertaken as an effort to obtain a Bachelor Degree.
